As a key team member of the Emergency Services department at NOVA, your critical role will provide support, guidance and advice to line management on all matters relating to Emergency Response to ensure that the operation maintains a high state of Emergency Preparedness. 

The role is responsible for ensuring the development, training and management of the Emergency Response Team (ERT) on site, to provide leadership and guidance on the Emergency Preparedness and Response function. 


This is a diverse opportunity where your solid experience will add value to the ongoing success and criticality of the role. The role will be reporting to the OHS Superintendent.  Being part of a close team, you will have the ability to influence and drive commitment to the ER function on site, whilst ensuring effective lines of communication are maintained at all times.

Your experience in developing and implementing Emergency Response plans for site and the use of specialised systems, including ChemAlert will also be advantageous in this role. This role will also offer an opportunity to drive continuous improvement of systems and processes to ensure IGO maintains industry best practise, whilst ensuring safety and improving efficiencies throughout.

Working a FIFO, family friendly 8 days on, 6 days off roster, this exciting opportunity will allow flexibility and balance.


You will have experience within a similar role, having strong knowledge of underground mining operations would be advantageous. Your ability to engage with a diverse range of stakeholders at all levels and work under pressure would offer you success in this opportunity.

Some essential key qualifications and areas of experience in this role will include:

  • RII30713 Certificate III in Mine Emergency Response and Rescue (Underground & Surface)
  • PUAOPE012A - Control a Level 1 incident
  • MR/HR driver’s licence
  • HLT41012 Certificate IV in Public Safety (Fire Emergency Operations)
  • Cert 4 in training and assessment - TAE40116
  • Practical application of the MSIA and MSIR, AS / NZS and relevant COP
