We are excited to announce a permanent opportunity for an experienced Plant Engineer. This is a fantastic opportunity for a bright, capable, and team focused professional engineer to make a significant impact at our world class Nova Operation.

Reporting to the Engineering Superintendent, the successful candidate will have the opportunity to take ownership of all Mechanical Fixed assets under the management of IGO with an asset manager mentality.

This is a family friendly FIFO role from Perth offering 8 days on, 6 days off roster.



This is a great opportunity to join our Engineering Team at our Nova mine site. In this role, you will be responsible for, but not limited to :

  • Ensuring statutory compliance, asset integrity & reliability, continuous improvement and operational excellence across disciplines
  • Driving key capital project and improvement initiative outcomes and providing guidance to mechanical resources within the IGO team to achieve a high level of success consistently
  • Conduct regular assessments of all the major infrastructure and audit compliance, integrity and operation
  • Identify, Implement and prioritise risk mitigation initiatives
  • Assistance and guidance of site trade & technical personnel
  • Lead significant investigations with lessons learned analysis
  • Ownership of Mechanical facilities and systems from an Asset Integrity and reliability perspective
  • Stewardship of all IGO Mechanical & Plant Engineering Standards
  • Development & execution of Capital Projects
  • Assure compliance with Company objectives, policies, procedures, safe work practices, relevant Acts and Regulations
  • Work closely and collaborate with other IGO personnel within the immediate team and across the business



Along with a positive attitude and willingness to contribute and be part of a team, it is essential that you hold a minimum of 5 years’ experience within a well-established, hands-on role in Mechanical engineering accompanied by demonstrated experience in mineral processing plant or heavy industry and underground environments.

The following will also be essential to your success in this role :  

  • Thorough understanding of Asset Management practices for long term sustainability in mining/heavy industry
  • Personnel & Contractor Team Management experience
  • Degree (Hons) in Mechanical Engineering
  • Current ‘C’ Class Manual Drivers Licence
  • Demonstrated acumen in:
    • Process, Pumping & Piping Fluid Dynamics
    • Crushing, Milling, Flotation, Filtration & Reagent Batching
    • Structural, Mechanical & Piping (SMP) Installations
    • Project Management Systems & Practices
    • Equipment and mineral processing systems design and operation
    • Statutory Compliance, Plant Inspection (Classified)
    • Reliability Centred Maintenance (RCM) and Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA)
    • Preventive Maintenance, Predictive Maintenance, Condition Monitoring
    • Root Cause Analysis & Defect Elimination Strategy
    • Risk management
