We are seeking a motivated Mine Infrastructure Technician for our Forrestania Nickel Operation. This role is responsible for delivering preventative and corrective equipment maintenance to the Bore Field, Water Treatment Plant and Wastewater Treatment Plant.

Reporting to the Mechanical Supervisor, your key accountabilities will include:                                                         

  • Maintain a high level of safety, health and environmental awareness whilst complying with all relevant policies and procedures;
  • Complete mine infrastructure maintenance activities to high standards within manufacturer recommendations;
  • Ensure daily maintenance routines are completed accurately and in a timely manner;
  • Ability to work autonomously with a strong focus on maintenance reliability;
  • Inspect, diagnose and fault finding all equipment within the manufacturer’s specifications;
  • Sign off on daily, weekly, monthly and statutory checks and report any defects;
  • Actively participate to improve and sustain a positive safety culture across the organisation; and
  • Drive the continuous improvement of systems and processes to ensure IGO maintains industry best practice;
  • Being a team player and part of a focused successful maintenance culture.


This role will be offered on a full time, permanent basis working an 8:6 FIFO roster from Perth (or DIDO from surrounding areas).

To be successful in this role, you will be a team player with a strong safety focus. You will also have the following:

  • Plumbing trade qualification or equivalent;
  • Previous experience in a similar role, preferably within a Mining, Infrastructure water systems and piping network environment;
  • Hold an Electrofusion and Butt Welding PMB301 and PMB302 tickets (Diresable);
  • Working in confined space certification;
  • Certificate III in Water Industry treatment;
  • The ability to communicate effectively with personnel at all levels of the Company;
  • Proficient computer software skills including Microsoft office. Pronto experience would be an advantage;
  • The ability to work autonomously and within a team;
  • National Police Clearance obtained within the last three months;
  • A current “C” class WA driver’s license.
