The work that I do primarily contributes to exploration targeting for various resource types, as well as to our understanding of how microanalytical techniques and AI can be utilized for mineral exploration. We are having to become more creative about how we explore, and rapidly evolving technology helps us push the limits of what information we can get out of the small scale, to apply that to large scale, responsible and low impact exploring. Therefore, I gauge success in various ways: whether I am able to produce a new target based on the methods I use; if I can provide a useable targeting tool to the project teams; if I contribute to our understanding on mineral chemistry dynamics in the context of exploration; and if I am constantly being critical about the limitations and new developments of AI, machine learning and thorough data handling. The ultimate success, of course, would be to find a new resource with the work that I do to contribute to the battery metals initiative, but prior to that - success is constantly striving for better understanding of current and evolving technologies, more insight into new applications to mineral exploration, and continual, creative advances in the exploration strategy.
