Hi Scott, as a geologist at IGO your roster is largely dependent on your project and whether you are within mining or exploration. Generally speaking, but not always the case, if you are a mine geologist you will be on an 8:6 roster. If you are in exploration your roster will vary due to the demands of the project you are working on and the requirements for the activities at a particular time, but your time away will generally be between 8 â 14 days on site and your break will be made up of DIL for weekends/public holidays spent on site. This is primarily due to exploration geologists being employed on a Monday â Friday, Perth based contract instead of a strict roster. I should note that outside of field seasons for the projects there is quite a bit of time spent in the South Perth office collating data, reviewing results, targeting and planning for the next field season.
