Your Opportunity

IGO is seeking an experienced Field Assistant to support exploration programs across regional Australia. In this hands-on role, you'll work in a small team alongside geologists and drilling crews, contributing to the discovery of future mineral resources through sampling, drilling support, camp operations and a range of field-based exploration activities in remote locations.

 

What You’ll Do

  • Support exploration programs including drilling, sampling and field-based activities;
  • Collect, manage and report geological samples and data to a high standard;
  • Maintain remote camps, logistics and day-to-day field operations;
  • Operate, inspect and maintain vehicles, generators and field equipment;
  • Assist with land access, heritage, environmental and rehabilitation activities; and
  • Promote a strong safety culture while contributing to teamwork and continuous improvement.

 

What You’ll Bring

This role will suit someone who is experienced in remote field exploration activities and has a strong commitment to health, wellbeing and safety. We are seeking someone who can meet most of the following;

  • Experience in remote field exploration work (soil, air core, RC, diamond drilling, sampling, clearing/rehab, core processing);
  • Ability to work in remote locations on greenfields projects with tent or caravan style accommodation;
  • Experience in the use of GPS, Inreach and satellite communication systems;
  • Be safety focused with the drive to be part of a successful team supporting our company values;
  • Awareness of the Mine Safety and Inspection Act & Regulations;
  • Current valid certifications in First Aid, 4WD, UTV (desirable);
  • Backhoe/Loader ticket (desirable);
  • High Risk work License – Forklift and Vehicle Loading Crane (CV) (desirable);
  • Valid ‘C’ class manual drivers’ licence and HR/MR licence, (essential);
  • Trailer/Caravan towing experience (desirable);
  • National Police Clearance obtained within the last 2 months.
