Your Opportunity

Our Nova underground operation (Ni-Cu-Co) is entering a pivotal phase, with approximately 18 months of full production remaining before transitioning to closure. This is a rare opportunity to be part of a high-performing, motivated team as we responsibly and safely bring this world class mine to a close.

Applications are open for a FIFO Registered Nurse with remote mine site experience to join our Health & Safety team. As the site’s Registered Nurse, you’ll play a critical role in supporting the health and wellbeing of our workforce. You will manage the site medical centre and first aid facilities, provide emergency and trauma care, support injury management and return-to-work programs, and contribute to our biological monitoring and health surveillance initiatives.

Reporting to the Senior Advisor WHS, key responsibilities include:

  • Providing first response medical and trauma care;
  • Coordinating treatment and ongoing care for injuries and illnesses;
  • Administering basic and advanced life support;
  • Maintaining accurate medical records and reporting;
  • Supporting health surveillance and promotion activities;
  • Managing return-to-work programs in collaboration with our Health & Wellbeing Coordinator;
  • Conducting regular drug and alcohol testing; and
  • Driving continuous improvement in health and safety systems.

 

Your Experience

Ideally you will be a Registered Nurse with remote area emergency response and/or mining industry experience who understands the physical and mental challenges facing our workforce. You will be passionate about the health, safety, and care of people and bring the following:

  • Bachelor of Science (Nursing) and current registration with AHPRA;
  • Significant experience in remote area nursing and emergency response (mining experience preferred);
  • Advanced Life Support 2 and knowledge of use of specialised medical equipment (resuscitators etc.);
  • HLTPAT304D Collect pathology specimens other than blood;
  • Strong computer skills, ideally with INX and Medical Director;
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills;
  • Valid “C” Class Manual Licence with experience driving an Ambulance; and
  • National Police Clearance obtained within the last two months.
