Your Opportunity

The Head of Exploration leads the company’s discovery pipeline focused on lithium, copper, and nickel, ensuring a sustainable and value-driven portfolio of exploration projects. This role is responsible for defining and executing the company’s exploration strategy, optimising resource allocation, and fostering technical excellence in geoscience, safety, and innovation.

Reporting to the Chief Growth and Commercial your key accountabilities include:

  • Lead a culture of safety leadership, ensuring that all exploration activities adhere to the highest health, safety, and environmental (HSE) standards
  • Define and implement the global exploration strategy aligned with corporate growth objectives
  • Identify and prioritise new opportunities that align with the company’s business goals and risk appetite
  • Ensure effective execution of exploration programs across multiple jurisdictions ensuring compliance with regulatory ESG and corporate governance requirements
  • Lead and develop a high performing exploration team by cultivating a culture of technical excellence, collaboration, and innovation
  • Drive innovation in exploration methodologies, including the use of AI, machine learning, and new geophysical/geochemical techniques
  • Manage and optimise the annual exploration budget, ensuring cost efficiency and maximum value creation.

About Your Experience

Along with a proven track record in the exploration of base and battery metals you will also bring the following:

  • Experience leading large-scale exploration teams and managing complex portfolios
  • Strong technical background in geoscience, mineral systems, and exploration targeting
  • Proven ability to integrate innovation and data analytics into exploration strategies
  • Strong commercial acumen, with experience in budgeting, portfolio management, and stakeholder engagement.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and decision-making skills
  • Demonstrated commitment to health, safety, and wellbeing in exploration and fieldwork environments
  • Bachelor’s degree in Geoscience discipline together with post graduate qualification in a Geoscience field would be desirable.
