Your Opportunity

This role is a key member of the Executive Leadership Team, responsible for overseeing all financial functions and strategy development and execution.  The successful applicant will play a critical role in driving financial performance, supporting strategic decision-making and ensuring company compliance with ASX listing requirements and corporate governance standards.

Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer/Managing Director your key accountabilities include:

  • Lead, mentor and develop the senior leadership team with direct reporting lines for finance and supply chain, information technology, Program Management Office and change teams
  • Lead the development and execution of IGO’s strategy to support business growth and shareholder value
  • Drive cost discipline, operational efficiency and continuous financial improvement and provide business analysis services to the broader business
  • Oversee budgeting, forecasting and financial modelling to ensure accurate financial planning and risk management
  • Ensure timely and accurate financial reporting in compliance with ASX and regulatory requirements
  • Manage all areas of financial compliance, including financial reporting, tax, treasury and insurance
  • Develop and maintain strong internal controls, financial policies and risk management processes
  • Partner with the Board and oversee the Audit Risk Committee
  • Foster a high-performing culture across the business, ensuring alignment with corporate objectives
  • Chair the Investment Review Committee and the Internal Audit, Risk and Compliance Committee
  • Collaborate with operational teams to drive financial accountability and cost efficiency across the business.

Your Experience

The role will require someone with a flexible approach to work and who will be comfortable moving between areas to accommodate the needs of Nova as it enters the later stages of its mine life. You will also have the following:

  • Relevant Tertiary qualification (Bachelor of Commerce – Finance, or equivalent)
  • ANZCA or CPA Qualification
  • Extensive experience in commercially oriented financial leadership roles
  • Highly skilled written and verbal communication, literacy, numeracy and presentation skills
  • Experience in the management of finance systems within wholly operated and Joint Venture structures
  • Exposure to debt and capital markets
  • Exposure to financial management of large capital projects in the resources sector
  • High level understanding of latest accounting standards and relevant taxation knowledge and advice
  • Australian Institute of Company Director’s course completion Certificate (desirable).
