Your Opportunity

As our Senior Cyber Security Engineer, you’ll lead the design, implementation, and management of advanced cyber security measures across IGO’s hybrid IT/OT environment. You will play a critical role in protecting our systems, networks, and data while driving uplift in cyber maturity across the business.

What You’ll Do

  • Design and implement enterprise‑level security architecture across hybrid OT/IT environments;
  • Drive network segmentation, Zero Trust, NGFW, WAF, DDoS protection, SIEM, IDS/IPS, endpoint protection, IAM, PKI and secure remote access technologies;
  • Lead proactive threat detection, incident response, and root cause analysis using advanced tools, including AI/ML threat‑detection platforms;
  • Conduct vulnerability assessments, penetration testing and risk‑based security reviews;
  • Ensure compliance with ASD Essential Eight, NIST, SOCI Act and ISO27001;
  • Support audit and regulatory processes with documentation and reporting;
  • Contribute to security policies, standards, and awareness materials;
  • Build capability across IGO through training, leadership, and collaboration; and
  • Engage with internal teams, vendors, and industry forums to stay ahead of emerging threats.

 

What You’ll Bring

You will be an excellent collaborator and communicator, have a naturally analytical mindset, and be calm under pressure. We are seeking a team player who is flexible, proactive and can bring most of the following;

  • Tertiary qualification in IT/Cyber Security or relevant certifications (e.g., CISSP, CC, CEH);
  • Prior experience working at a senior level within Cyber Security;
  • Strong experience in IP networking, cloud technologies, and security architecture;
  • Deep knowledge of cyber security principles and frameworks (NIST, ASD Essential Eight, MITRE ATT&CK);
  • Desirable certifications: Fortinet, CompTIA Security+, OSCP, GIAC ML Engineer, Azure Security Engineer;
  • Understanding of AI/ML applications in cybersecurity; and
  • A recent National Police Clearance (within 2 months).
