Monday – Friday with field time as required | 6-month Fixed Term Contract 

Location:

South Perth Corporate Office | Various IGO Exploration sites

We are seeking a passionate and driven Exploration Geologist to join our dynamic Exploration team on a 6-month fixed-term contract. This role plays a key part in identifying and assessing high-quality exploration targets that support the discovery and development of resources critical to clean energy.

Reporting to the Senior Lead Geologist, you will contribute to the execution of exploration programs, ensuring geological data integrity, safety compliance, and operational excellence across our exploration activities.

Key Accountabilities

  • Conduct geological mapping, logging and interpretation of drill core and spoil
  • Support the planning, execution and evaluation of geochemistry, geophysics and drilling programs.
  • Ensure compliance with JORC standards and regulatory approvals (e.g., POWs, GDRs).
  • Collaborate with contractors to prepare drill sites and maintain core presentation standards.
  • Contribute to daily reporting and maintain accurate geological records.
  • Assist in budgeting and cost management of exploration activities.
  • Champion safety culture and participate in audits, inspections, and incident investigations.
  • Engage in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance operational performance.

Your Experience

The ideal person will thrive in an environment where precision, accountability, and clear communication are key to success. We are seeking applicants who can demonstrate the following;

  • A Bachelor of Science majoring in Geology (Honours desirable).
  • Previous experience in an exploration environment.
  • Strong presentation and communication skills.
  • A current ‘C’ Class Manual Driver’s Licence.
  • Experience with lithium or copper is highly regarded.
  • Remote First Aid & CPR or equivalent
  • 4WD Training
  • National Police Clearance obtained within the last two months.
