Your Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced and proactive Underground Mine Coordinator – Backfill to join our team at Nova. This role is pivotal in coordinating underground contractor resources, scheduling tasks for paste and service crews, and overseeing maintenance personnel, including electricians. You will also manage underground infrastructure projects and liaise with contractors as needed. Our Nova underground mine has 16 months of full production remaining before transitioning to closure. This is a rare opportunity to be part of a high-performing, motivated team as we responsibly and safely bring this world class mine to a close.

Key accountabilities include:

  • Coordinate underground contractor resources and task scheduling.
  • Supervise underground infrastructure projects and manage sub-contractors.
  • Collaborate with Mine Control to maintain surface and underground infrastructure, including OT network technology.
  • Compliance to Safety Management Systems and WHS requirements
  • Maintain strong communication with site maintenance and processing teams to support preventative maintenance and resolve breakdowns.
  • Drive continuous improvement in backfill operations to enhance throughput and schedule compliance.
  • Maintain stakeholder relationships across Mining Technical Services, Processing, Maintenance, and underground contractors.
  • Stay informed on industry innovations and technology related to mining infrastructure and materials management.
  • Ensure underground activities align with environmental expectations and site best practices.

 

Your Experience

To succeed in this role, you will be a collaborative team player with strong communication skills and the ability to engage effectively across all levels of the business. You will also bring:

  • An Underground Supervisor's Certificate (desirable).
  • Proven experience managing teams in a similar underground environment
  • Strong communication and time management skills.
  • Experience working with and managing contractors.
  • Exposure to paste plant operations, citect systems, and remote automation.
  • Familiarity with milling and processing operations.
  • Basic proficiency in MS Office and Deswik mine design software (viewing).
  • A valid ‘C’ class manual driver’s license.
  • National Police Clearance obtained within the last two months.
